Most of us are aware that eating some things will have an impact on our body odor. Anyone who has eaten something garlicky will be able to vouch for that! However, we tend to remain unaware of how these foods affect the vagina. Some foods can cause problems ranging from a bad smell to yeast infections. As women, we need to educate ourselves in order to ensure that we maintain the health of our genitalia. Below are some foods that definitely affect the vagina.

7 FOODS THAT HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR VAGINA

1. Alcohol
Especially for those who have issues with dryness, alcohol makes things a lot worse. Drinking liquor causes dehydration and a side effect of this is that the vagina is unable to produce the required amounts of moisture. People who binge-drink often also face problems like decreased libido and insomnia.

2. Asparagus
It is commonly known that asparagus makes pee smell weird and can even give it a green color. What you need to know is that it upsets the pH balance of the vagina, causing a bad smell. Of course, asparagus has health benefits as well but avoid it if you have worries about the odor of your vagina.

3. Broccoli
An entire generation of kids may have been scarred by the Powerpuff Girls episode with evil alien broccoli but we’ve always been told to eat it for our health. It is a good addition to your diet because of all the nutrients it contains. But you might have to avoid it if you have a date coming up. Your vagina might start emitting the same smell as the vegetable.

4. Cheese
While we might have heard of the effects of dairy on other organs, nobody really talks about how it affects reproductive health. Excess amounts of cheese can disrupt the pH balance of the vagina. Those who eat cheesy dishes regularly must also drink a lot of water and eat other foods to maintain their pH levels. Yogurt is a better idea than cheese because of the probiotics it contains.

5. Deep-Fried Dishes
You can indulge in junk once in a while but if you eat fried food regularly, it will definitely affect the smell of your vagina. Moreover, the increase in fat content can put you at risk of infections like bacterial vaginosis.

6. Onions
We all know that cutting onions is pain and eating them on a date is a bad idea. The bad news is that not only do onions affect your breath they also change the smell of your vagina. The smell even spreads to urine. Of course, eating just a little onion doesn’t change much but a lot can have a bad effect on the genital region.

7. Sugar
Those who regularly eat food that contains a lot of sugar have more chances of contracting yeast infections. The excess sugar which can’t be processed by the body leaks into the circulatory system and spreads through the body and to your genital region as well. Since yeasts thrive in warm, moist places and on sugar, yeast infections become more likely.

Completely avoiding some of these foods isn’t good either so try to moderate your intake. Consult with a physician as soon as possible if you think that something is wrong.
